Whilst the name FVD is derived from the initials of the founder and chief executive officer of the business, FVD was born out of the founder’s burning desire to advance and braoden economic participation, inclusivity, re-investment and gratitude in Africa in particular and the world in general.
Since its inception in 2013, the company has delighted numerous clients with the services it provides from an advisory perspective to trading and investments as well as sourcing and supply of products and services in the markets it serves.

Vusi is the Chief Executive Officer for FVD Investments (Pty) Ltd and a former Group Human Resources Director for Tsogo Sun Group (Pty) Ltd, having held the position from 1 September 2006 to 30 September 2019. A seasoned c-suite executive, leader, and human resource strategist with over 30 years of experience, including managing multi-billion Retirement Funds.
He has a wealth of experience in people management, business development, legal, and general management, which he obtained from various industries, including the pulp and paper industry (Sappi), fast-moving consumer goods (Cadbury Schweppes and Consol Glass), travel and tourism (SAA & Tsogo Sun), diversified defence and aviation environment (Denel), and information technology (Dimension Data).
He has held various senior managerial and leadership roles, including Human Resources Manager (Sappi, Cadbury Schweppes, and Consol), Legal Advisor, and general Manager of Human Resources (Denel), Group Human Resources Director (Denel & Tsogo Sun), Executive Vice President of Human Resources (SAA), and Executive Director of Business Development (Dimension Data).
He has served on the following Boards during his career, namely: Denel (PTY) Ltd; Dimension Data South Africa (PTY) Ltd; Paracon Holdings (PTY) Ltd; Tshimong Investment Holdings (PTY) Ltd; Southern Sun Hotel Interests (PTY) Ltd; Tsogo Sun Casinos (PTY) Ltd; Apartheid Museum and Business Against Crime South Africa. Vusi also served as a member of the Remuneration Committee and the Social and Ethics Committee of Tsogo Sun Holdings board and was a permanent invitee of the Tsogo Sun Holdings board.
Outside of his career interests, Vusi is a keen golfer and a marathon and ultra-marathon runner, having completed numerous Comrades ultra-marathons and all the Abbots World Marathon Majors. He is also an enthusiastic cook, oenophile, avid reader, and collector of art.
